Ontario Basketball is seeking four student interns interested in gaining sport industry experience for Winter 2022 (January to April). Four positions are available for the upcoming term:

Intern, Marketing & Communications

The Intern, Marketing & Communications will be involved in various areas of the organization’s marketing and communications initiatives. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Communications, the successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, demonstrate a positive attitude, and possess a desire to work in an amateur sport environment. Some knowledge of graphic design, photography, videography, and/or communications is preferred.

Intern, Basketball Development

The Intern, Basketball Development will be involved with various areas of basketball development, including high performance initiatives (Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association, Targeted Athlete Strategy, Centre for Performance), community development initiatives (Mega Hoops, Jr. NBA, Ontario Summer Development Program), and coaching and officiating clinics and certifications.  Reporting to the Director of Basketball Operations, the successful candidate will work closely with the team to utilize their sports management education through hands-on learning experience.

Intern, League Development

The Intern, League Development will be involved in all aspects of the Ontario Basketball League (OBL), including communications and administration, gaining hands-on learning experience which compliments their education. Reporting to the Director, Clubs & Competitions, the successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, demonstrate a positive attitude, and possess a desire to work in an amateur sport environment.

Intern, Club Development

The Intern, Club Development will be involved with all aspects of Clubs and Competitions administration for the Ontario Basketball club season and Ontario Basketball Championships, while gaining hands-on learning experience which compliments their education. Reporting to the Director, Clubs and Competitions, the successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, demonstrate a positive attitude, and possess a desire to work in an amateur sport environment.

Compensation: Honorarium

Ontario Basketball’s office remains closed for the time being. Winter 2022 interns will be loaned a company issued laptop for the purpose of remote work. If it is safe to gradually return to the office in 2022, work may be a combination of in-office and remote.
