Call for Applications: Coaching Staff for 2019 Team Ontario Boys

Description

Ontario Basketball is seeking three head coaches and three lead assistant coaches for the 2018–19 season. Preference will be given to applicants who are NCCP-certified or working towards full certification in the stage of development in which they are coaching, as outlined below:

  • U14 Boys
    • U14 head coach: Train to Train Certified
    • U14 lead assistant coach: Train to Train Certified
  • U15 Boys
    • U15 head coach: Train to Train Certified
    • U15 lead assistant coach: Train to Train Certified
  • U17 Boys
    • U17 head coach: Train to Compete Certified
    • U17 lead assistant coach: Train to Compete Certified or Train to Train Certified

Availability

Applicants must be available for scheduled tryouts, mini-camps, and training camps as well as Centre for Performance (CP) Centralized and Targeted Athlete Strategy (TAS). The U15 and U17 coaches must be available for the 2019 Canada Basketball National Championships (TBA), while the U14 coaches must be available for a summer tournament in Montreal (TBA).

About Team Ontario
Team Ontario consists of the top male and female basketball players in the province in the U15 and U17 age categories, and the teams are a continual medal favourite at the annual Canada Basketball National Championships. Team Ontario’s coaching staff also represents some of the top coaches in Ontario. Between the four teams, Team Ontario has won gold at over 70% of the national championships since 2002. To help maintain Team Ontario’s winning tradition, the U14 Boys and Girls development teams prepare young players to compete at the provincial level.
