Ontario Basketball Welcomes Michael Falloon as Assistant, Officials Development

Ontario Basketball (OBA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Falloon as Assistant, Officials Development.

Falloon will play a key role in the growth & development of basketball officiating in the province of Ontario. In this role, he will lead OBA’s efforts towards attracting, developing, and creating opportunities for the next generation of basketball officials in our province. Falloon will work closely OBA High Performance staff, the OUA & OCAA, OABO leadership and key local board contacts to work on identified projects and initiatives to further officiating development and recruitment in Ontario.

As Assistant, Officials Development, Falloon will support the hiring, training, and management of the OUA, OCAA, and OSBA Officials Supervisors – Overseeing all officiating needs and responsibilities for the three leagues. Falloon will also ensure the application of the FIBA rules are understood and applied across all basketball leagues and competition levels.  He will also be responsible for the circulation of FIBA rule updates, conveying points of emphasis to coaches and officials, and participating in the evaluation of officials.

With over 30 years officiating and coaching experience, Michael has been an active and well-respected member of the basketball community, both locally and nationally.  He has been a member of TABO as the liaison officer during his officiating career and has assigned locally all levels of basketball.  Michael’s commitment to the game of basketball has led him to several elite officiating opportunities both in Canada and the USA.  Michael is also currently the Director of Officials for the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) and is a National Referree Coach with CBOC.
