Ontario Basketball 2021-2022 Club Season Update – September 1
Almost a year and half removed from the last sanctioned OBA club event, Ontario Basketball is pleased to officially return to competition with the opening of rep club season registration today, September 1, 2021.
Ontario Basketball continues to closely follow and communicate to its members the advice of the provincial government, local public health units, and health experts. We are cautiously optimistic on the return of our flagship club events for 2021-22: the Ontario Basketball League and end-of-year OBA Championships.
Additional policies and protocols to keep membership safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19 are currently being developed and will be published in the coming weeks. Ontario Basketball would like to remind members to abide by all Step 3 provincial reopening guidelines and OBA’s Return to Play – Step 3 notice when resuming basketball activities in the coming weeks and months.
The following resources applicable to the upcoming season can be found on our website:
- Rules and Regulations Manual for 2021-22
- Summary of Changes for 2021-22
- Return to Play – Step 3: Effective Friday, July 16, 2021
Competition and registration dates for OBL and OBA Championships are now posted here.
We want to thank our OBA member clubs, teams, coaches, players, parents, and volunteers as well as the basketball community across Ontario for their continued support, and for following all OBA Return to Play guidelines to keep each other safe.
Upon completion and approval of the club affiliation/registration process, the member club’s insurance will be effective, and Ontario Basketball will issue a certificate of insurance (effective September 1 to August 31 each year). Additional information on insurance coverage can be found here.
To request an insurance certificate, please submit an Insurance Certificate Request via Smartsheet.
