Boys’ Centre for Performance Tryouts Starting in September

Centre for Performance (CP) is back for another season of athlete development with tryouts scheduled across the province!

Learn more about the program and tryouts below.

About

CP is a national program designed to develop athletes to compete at the international basketball level. The emphasis of CP is to train skills that athletes do not otherwise have the opportunity to develop. CP is not based on a competition model. Instead, it is a group of athletes training together in regional pods across Ontario with the common goal of improving.

Athletes are selected through an open tryout process beginning in September. Regional coaches identify and select approximately 15 athletes to train together for 30 hours from October to January. CP coaches are high-level, certified coaches who follow age-specific curriculum developed by Ontario Basketball and Canada Basketball. Additionally, CP athletes have the opportunity to be selected by their coaches to attend a Top 40 CP Centralized Camp in January for further development.

Eligibility

Boys Prep: Male athletes in Grades 7 & 8 (born in 2004 & 2005)
Boys: Male athletes in Grades 9 to 11 (born in 2001 to 2003)
