Note: The penalties for offenses listed are guidelines for the Fair Play Committee. If the Fair Play Committee deems an incident of misconduct to be severe enough, the ramifications could be equivalent to a third offense even if it is the first offense of the stakeholder.

Misconduct by a Player

5. A Player, substitute, excluded player who is disqualified or ejected from the game for fighting.
FIBA defines fighting as physical interaction between two (2) or more opponents. Fighting includes, but is not limited to combative acts such as:
a. An attempt to strike an opponent with a fist, hands, arms, legs or feet.
b. An attempt to punch or kick an opponent, regardless of whether contact is made.
c. An attempt to instigate a fight by committing an unsportsmanlike act toward an opponent that causes an opponent to retaliate by fighting
