If you have dreams of becoming an Olympic athlete, RBC Training Ground can help you get to the top of the podium.

What Is It?

RBC Training Ground is a talent identification and athlete funding program created by RBC in partnership with CBC and the Canadian Olympic Committee. It is designed to uncover athletes with Olympic potential and provide them with the high performance sport resources they need to achieve their podium dreams.

With the belief that high performance sport should be accessible to all athletes that are talented, qualified and have the will to compete, this program travels the country every year searching for athletes that will fuel the Canadian Olympic pipeline with future talent.

Eligibility

Athletes aged 14–25 are eligible to participate.

Qualifying Events

Testing

At Qualifying Events, athletes are put through a variety of tests that help determine each athlete’s potential performance in a specific sport.

Some of the tests include:

  • 40/30 metre sprint
  • Vertical jump
  • Multi-stage shuttle run
  • Six second bike sprint

National Final

After the RBC Training Ground Qualifying Events, athletes will be selected to attend sport-specific testing over the spring/summer of 2019. The top 100 athletes from across Canada will then be invited to the National Final in Calgary on September 14 and 15, 2019, based on their performance at both regional Qualifying Events and sport-specific testing.
