Seven Ontario athletes named to FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2021 roster
Canada Basketball has announced the 12-person roster for the 2021 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2021, set for August 7 to 15. Seven Ontario athletes will represent Canada in Hungary:

All seven athletes have competed or are currently competing in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association women’s league. Alexander, Audino, Hylton and Zingaro competed for Team Ontario at the last Canada Basketball National Championships held in 2019.
The U19 women’s squad will be coached by Fabian McKenzie, with Tamara Tatham and Marlo Davis joining as assistant coaches.
The team participated in training camp in Geneva, Ohio between July 22 and August 2. They’ll now travel to Hungary to compete in the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2021.
In Hungary, Canada will compete in Group D with Mali, Japan and Czech Republic. Canada is currently fourth in the FIBA World Ranking presented by Nike, behind only the USA, Spain, and France. Their first game of the tournament is set for Saturday, August 7 versus Japan:
