Ontario Basketball welcomes Michael Falloon as interim OSBA Officials Facilitator

Ontario Basketball (OBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Falloon as interim OSBA Facilitator for the 2022-23 basketball season.

Michael will be responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of the officials for the sport of basketball within the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA) and Ontario Basketball Development League (OBDL), including carrying out official’s evaluations, mentoring, and officials’ development opportunities.  Michael will also assist in the assignment process with the Ontario Association of Basketball Officials (OABO) local boards.

The OSBA Officials Facilitator will also ensure the application of the FIBA rules are understood and applied across all games in the OSBA & OBDL.  The OSBA Officials Facilitator is also responsible for the circulation of FIBA rule updates, conveying points of emphasis to coaches, and participating in the evaluation of officials.

With over 30 years officiating and coaching experience, Michael has been an active and well-respected member of the basketball community, both locally and nationally.  He has been a member of TABO as the liaison officer during his officiating career.  Michael’s commitment to the game of basketball has led him to several elite officiating opportunities both in Canada and the USA.  Michael is also currently the Director of Officials for the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC).
