Ontario Basketball and Dairy Farmers of Ontario Expand Partnership for 2023

Dairy Farmers of Ontario becomes the official and exclusive revitalization partner of Ontario Basketball
Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) and Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) are pleased to announce a partnership extension for 2023. With this agreement, DFO will be the presenting partner of Ontario Basketball Championships. This partnership will continue to support youth basketball participation, access and development across Ontario.
“DFO is proud to continue its partnership with Ontario Basketball Association, an organization dedicated to the success of its student-athletes,” said Cheryl Smith, Chief Executive Officer at DFO. “MilkUP is DFO’s youth lifestyle brand that was created with youth success in mind and with this renewed partnership, we recognize outstanding Ontario youth athletes who demonstrate MilkUP’s values: perseverance, originality and heart.”
As part of the partnership, DFO will have activations at all Provincial Championship events for 2023. DFO will also continue to support the James Rose and Hazel Miner awards which provide two bursaries of $5,000 each that to go towards post-secondary education costs for graduating athletes. The James Rose & Hazel Miner Awards are given out each year to one male and one female MVP for Team Ontario. Through the OBA’s Coaching Development program, DFO will also support coaches through training and development to ensure each team can continue developing their athletes.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with DFO,” said Dave Stockton, Executive Director of Ontario Basketball. “DFO’s continued support of Ontario Basketball has allowed us to grow our programs, offer more support for our members, support student-athletes with scholarships and more. We especially look forward to having DFO involved with our high-performance pathway and Team Ontario this summer.”
OBA and DFO first partnered in 2019. Ontario Basketball is grateful for the ongoing support for youth basketball from DFO and looking forward to rolling out DFO activations at Provincial Championships over the new few months.
