Ontario Basketball, Canadian Elite Basketball League Announce Partnership for 2022 CEBL Season

Ontario Basketball is pleased to announce the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) as a partner for the upcoming 2022 CEBL season. Through this ongoing partnership, Ontario Basketball and the CEBL will continue to grow the game of basketball in Ontario, from the youth level all the way up to domestic professional leagues.

OBA members who purchase CEBL tickets will be entered to win prizes, including a signed basketball, a gameday experience, or a CEBL jersey. Additionally, through this partnership, Ontario Basketball members will receive complimentary membership in Kids’ Club (with Hamilton, Niagara, and Ottawa participating). Kids’ Club membership provides young CEBL fans with perks such as access to monthly prize draws and activities, a personalized birthday card, discounts, and more!

About the CEBL

The Canadian Elite Basketball League is a professional men’s basketball league with 10 franchises across Canada. The league was founded in 2017 and its inaugural season played in 2019. Luckily for the Ontario basketball community, there are five CEBL franchises in Ontario: Guelph Nighthawks, Hamilton Honey Badgers, Niagara River Lions, Ottawa Blackjacks, and the newly formed Scarborough Shooting Stars.

The CEBL provides home-grown athletes an exclusive opportunity to represent their communities and further their careers as professional basketball players. It provides fans with edge-of-your-seat excitement through a high-caliber basketball experience in a family-friendly entertainment environment.

The fourth season of the CEBL tips off on Wednesday, May 25. Three new franchises will join the expanding league this season: Montreal Alliance, Newfoundland Growlers, and Scarborough Shooting Stars. The culminating League Championship will be hosted in Ottawa from August 12 – 14, 2022.
