OBA Teams Encouraged to Participate in the Play-In
Ontario Basketball (OBA) is excited to officially welcome the basketball competition season starting in October with the Play-In pre-season tournament in partnership with the Canadian Youth Basketball League (CYBL).
The Play-In, similar to the Ontario Fall Shootout in 2018, will continue with the pre-season festival environment that allows teams to slowly get back into a fun, competitive, and – most importantly – safe basketball environment. As health and safety continues to be a priority for OBA, the Play-In will follow Step 3 of the government re-opening guidelines and apply strict enforcement of provincial vaccination protocols and exemptions.
The pre-season tournament will be open to all OBA affiliated clubs and teams. We encourage teams to participate in sanctioned pre-season events such as the Play-In as it will assist OBA with determining initial Ontario Basketball League (OBL) rankings for this year. In addition, OBA will be hosting a Learn-to-Train coaching clinic, with more details to follow.
The Play-In 2022
Dates for Boys: October 22 – 24, 2021. Deadline to register is October 8, 2021.
Dates for Girls: October 30 – 31, 2021. Deadline to register is October 15, 2021.

Vaughan Sportsplex. 8301 Keele St, Concord, ON.
Durham Playground. 1313 Boundary Rd. Oshawa, ON.
Cost: $800
Format:
- Guaranteed 4 games.
- Boys will have games start on Friday at 11 am.

Event Admission: $10 per day.
