OBA Opens Bid Process for 2027 & 2028 Provincial Championships
Ontario Basketball (OBA) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for member clubs interested in hosting the 2027 and 2028 OBA Championships. This is a unique opportunity for organizations to showcase their community, generate local economic impact, and play a leading role in delivering one of the largest basketball events in North America.
Each year, the OBA Championships bring together more than 1,400 teams, 20,000 athletes and coaches, and hundreds of officials and volunteers from across the province. The Championships are the culmination of the Ontario basketball season and are hosted over nine weekends from March through June. Participants and their families travel from across Ontario, creating significant sport tourism benefits for host communities. A previous economic impact study estimated the Championships contribute more than $23 million annually to Ontario’s economy.
