Job Opportunity: Rep Basketball Coaches
Ontario Basketball member club, Canadian Basketball Academy (CBA), is looking for responsible, committed coaches for their youth basketball teams in Toronto.
Job Title: Rep Basketball Coach
Compensation: $15–40 per hour (negotiable); expenses related to travel and accommodation will be partially covered by CBA
Hours: 5 hours per week and opportunities to coach multiple teams in a head coach or assistant coach capacity
Qualifications:
- NCCP Level I (or willingness to attain certification)
- Reliable transportation
- Minimum 1 year of previous coaching experience
- Minimum 1 year of previous basketball experience as player, coach, or official
- CPR/First Aid is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Communicate regularly with team manager to ensure all team administrative tasks are completed
- A schedule of 23 games are set in advance, but coaches must liaise with team manager to schedule 2 regular season games
- Communicate with CBA regarding game results
- Communicate with Director of Programs to submit lesson plans 48 hours prior to every team activity and coaching reports within 24 hours after every team activity
- Record and track player attendance at all team activities
- Track hours and submit timesheets
- Attend all team activities and coach all practices and games
- Provide safe and attentive supervision of all students at all times on and off the court during CBA programs and events
- Follow all CBA policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional attitude during all team activities
- Other duties as assigned
Requirement: Successful candidates must pass a police check (vulnerable sector screening)
