Reporting to the Head Coach, Women’s Basketball, the Assistant Coach of the Gryphon Women’s Basketball Program assists with one of the Department’s highly visible OUA and USports programs.

Under the mentorship of the Head Coach, Women’s Basketball, the Assistant Coach will gain experience in all phases of a USports program.  This includes but is not limited to; recruitment and retention of academically qualified student athletes; overall program administration; community relations; practice and game coaching; local basketball organizations player and coach development and strict compliance with OUA/USports policies.  In addition, the Assistant Coach will assist with summer camp/clinic development and administration, ensuring a safe, fun, and educational experience for all participants.

As this position is subsidized by the Coaches Association of Ontario, Quest for Gold program which assists post-secondary institutions to develop female coaches, the University is accepting submissions from applicants who identify as female. Additionally, applicants will have: an undergraduate degree; NCCP High Performance Level I coaching certification or equivalent, and some previous successful coaching experience.  A knowledge of and commitment to OUA/USports rules and regulations are essential to this role.  Other requirements include; a commitment to excellence; superior organizational and communication skills; strong team building and conflict management skills.  Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, must have an understanding and appreciation of the University’s unique environment, as well as adhere to University and Department expectations, policies, and regulations.

Normal Hiring Range: $36,571 to $45,714
