Coaching opportunities with University of Toronto – Mississauga’s UTM Eagles

The University of Toronto – Mississauga Campus is seeking volunteer coaches for their Men’s and Women’s Tri-Campus basketball teams. Postings for the two coaching roles and the application process can be found below.

POSITION: Men’s Basketball – Head Coach

CLASSIFICATION: Volunteer
COMPENSATION: T4A Honorarium Payment
LOCATION: University of Toronto – Mississauga Campus

Description
The University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a volunteer Coach for the Tri-Campus Men’s Basketball team. The Tri-Campus League operates out of the St. George Campus and is the highest level of sport competition between all three campuses at the University of Toronto. The goal of the program is to advance the athletic and skill ability of UTM students, led by trained coaches, with potential development in the sport. The Coach will lead teams though one practice per week on the UTM campus and attend all scheduled games throughout the season (up to 9 total), between the three UofT campuses. The coach also maintains open and ongoing communication with their team throughout the semester. The volunteer will be a proven leader, motivator, and coach, committed to the development of our student athletes both on the court and in the classroom. The University of Toronto requires all those intending to be present on our three campuses or on premises owned or operated by the university, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Qualifications

  • Must be of good character, demonstrating high caliber of leadership, sportsmanship and coaching performance
  • Must have N.C.C.P Making Ethical Decisions certification & sport specific certifications (recommended)
  • Must have previous coaching and playing experience in the sport at a competitive level
  • Have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, sound administrative skills, strong motivational abilities and a commitment to fair play
