Mental Health in Sport - Coaches Association of Canada

Coaching Association of Canada launches new eLearning module as part of Mental Health Week

The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) has launched a new eLearning module titled ‘Mental Health in Sport’ as part of 2021 Mental Health Week, which runs May 3 – 9, 2021.

Mental health impacts the quality of life and performance of both sport participants and coaches. The Coaching Association of Canada’s Mental Health in Sport eLearning module was developed to educate coaches about mental health and to empower them to effectively play a role in supporting the well-being of the participants in their sport program, while also supporting their own mental health.

Sport is linked to a range of positive outcomes, including improved mental health and well-being. Coaches have a great deal of influence over participants’ mental health. The 45 minute, free to access eLearning module will educate coaches about the foundations of mental health, their role as a coach, and the importance of self-care.

Coaches who are maintaining their trained or certified status will receive 1 Professional Development (PD) point upon completing this module.

Visit the eLearning page in the Locker to get started, or learn more at coach.ca/MHIS.
