Claude Nembhard named Executive Director of Ontario Basketball

Ontario Basketball is proud to announce Claude Nembhard as the Executive Director on an interim basis as of March 4th, 2021.

Nembhard will step down from his position on the OBA’s Board of Directors prior to assuming this new role.

The organization thanks Jason Jansson for his dedication of over 20 years with Ontario Basketball including the past eight years as Executive Director.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Claude Nembhard’s caliber and experience to lead the organization at this time,” said John Rocchi. “Claude has a solid understanding of the organization, combined with his passion for the sport of basketball, and we are excited to be able to work with him in this new capacity.”

Nembhard has been a coach and mentor at many levels in the Ontario Basketball community including time spent in gyms across the province with his sons Andrew, currently Sixth Man of the Year in the WCC with Gonzaga, and Ryan, currently starting at top-ranked prep powerhouse Monteverde Academy.

“I’m very excited to help guide Ontario Basketball through this next phase and I see a lot of opportunities for growth in the years ahead,” said Nembhard. “The pandemic hasn’t been easy on our basketball community and we are optimistic about a return to basketball that builds off of the momentum to advance the game.”
