The Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) is seeking a professional with a solid background in game management who has a vast knowledge of basketball officiating and experience in administration to become the OUA Officials Supervisor under Ontario Basketball.

Reporting to the Director of Basketball Operations, the OUA Basketball Supervisor will assist in the oversight and management of the official’s panel for the sport of basketball within the OUA including carrying out official’s evaluation, mentoring and assisting with the assignment process.

To succeed in this position, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills and experience in basketball officiating and administration. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 10 years officiating experience at the university level and a minimum of 15 years officiating in Ontario, previous experience with people performance management processes and/or mentoring evaluating officials will be preferred.

The role of the supervisor will include but not be limited to; ensure the application of the FIBA rules are understood and enforced by the hired panel of officials, circulation of FIBA rule updates and points of emphasis to coaches, assign league games in accordance with quality of officials, considering travel distance and budget requirements, participate in the evaluation of officials on the panel.

Compensation for the position will be an honorarium including travel expenses. The term of this agreement is from September 1st, 2021 to April 31st, 2022.
