Canada Basketball to Host Men’s High Performance National Team Age-Group Assessment Camp

Canada Basketball will host a Men’s High Performance National Team Age-Group Assessment Camp at Humber College (Toronto, ON) from October 6-9, 2023, for athletes interested in consideration for both U17 and U18 men’s national teams next summer, as well as the 2023-24 Junior Academy season.

Athletes born in 2007 or 2008 will be assessed for participation on the U17 team, which will compete next summer at the FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup 2024, held July 29 – July 7, 2024 (location TBC). Earlier this summer, the team earned a silver medal at the FIBA U16 Men’s Americas Championship 2023 in Yucatan, Mexico, to qualify for the World Cup.

Athletes born in 2006 or later will be assessed for participating on the U18 team, competing at the FIBA U18 Men’s Americas Championship 2024 (date/location TBD).  Canada last won bronze at the tournament in 2022 in Tijuana, Mexico.

Junior Academy is the entry point into Canada Basketball’s High Performance Athlete Development Pathway. Through excellent coaching and programming, the program provide grade 7 and 8 students with an opportunity to train and develop in a high-performance environment.  For additional information on Canada Basketball’s Junior Academy, click here.

A $40 registration fee will be collected upon arrival upon arrival.  All participants will be provided with a shirt to be worn during the assessment camp.
