Call for Applications: OBA Club Advisory Committee

The Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Club Advisory Committee and is inviting eligible member clubs to submit an Expression of Interest to become a committee member.

As part of OBA’s ongoing commitment to member-informed governance, the Club Advisory Committee will serve as an advisory body that provides valuable feedback and perspectives from member clubs across the province.

The committee will create a formal channel for OBA to proactively engage clubs on matters impacting the basketball community, including and not limited to operations, programming, policies, and other strategic initiatives.

Committee Eligibility

Member clubs interested in serving on the Club Advisory Committee will be considered based on the following criteria:

  • Be a current OBA member club in good standing.
  • Have maintained a minimum of three (3) consecutive seasons as an OBA member club.
  • Have up-to-date coaching certification and compliance for all applicable staff.
  • Have current background checks completed for all applicable staff and volunteers.
  • Have no outstanding financial obligations to OBA, including registration fees or hosting invoices.
  • Have no active disciplinary proceedings or unresolved compliance issues.
  • Demonstrate active participation as an OBA event host.
  • Have a history of constructive and cooperative engagement with the Association.

Clubs are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every criterion. OBA will review all expressions of interest and consider each club’s overall profile during the selection process.

OBA will also seek to ensure regional representation from across Ontario, with the goal of creating a committee that reflects the diversity of the province’s basketball community.
