Ontario Basketball Opens Applications for New Club Affiliation

Ontario Basketball is now accepting applications for new club affiliation from organizations looking to grow the game in their communities.

Becoming an Ontario Basketball affiliated club connects organizations to the province’s governing body for basketball while providing access to programs, resources, education, sanctioned competition opportunities, and support designed to help clubs build sustainable basketball programming.

Whether launching a new competitive club or continuing to develop a grassroots basketball community, OBA affiliation provides an important foundation for long-term success.

Affiliated clubs gain access to a province-wide basketball network committed to developing athletes, coaches, officials, and communities across Ontario. Benefits may include:

  • Participation in OBA-sanctioned competitions and championships, subject to meeting affiliation requirements
  • Access to coach education and development opportunities through the NCCP pathway
  • Support in working toward Canada Basketball Verification Program compliance

Who Can Apply?

Ontario Basketball welcomes organizations committed to delivering quality basketball programming in a safe, inclusive, and development-focused environment.

Applicants should be prepared to support athlete development, promote participation opportunities, follow Ontario Basketball and Canada Basketball standards, and build a sustainable program within their community.

All first-year affiliated clubs will complete a one-year probationary period while working toward full compliance with Ontario Basketball’s affiliation requirements.
