Ontario Well Represented in Second Phase of Senior Women’s National Training Camp

Canada Basketball announced the 15 athletes who will be participating in the second phase of the Women’s National Team Assessment Camp from June 19-26 in Edmonton, Alberta. Of the 15 athletes, eight of the athletes chosen to attend are from Ontario. The second phase of training camp will focus on developing athletes and a path to the 2017 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.

Seven of the eight athletes from Ontario will travel to China for an exhibition tournament from July 1-8. Miah-Marie Langlois will attend camp, but will not travel to China for the tournament. Canada begins their games July 1 against Lithuania, they will then go on to play Belarus and China.

Canada will re-group on July 23 in Edmonton following the tournament, where the final phase of training camp will begin and the roster for the 2017 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup will be confirmed.
