16 Team Ontario athletes attend Canada Basketball U17/U18 Men’s National Team Assessment Camp
Canada Basketball’s Men’s High Performance Program conducted an Eastern Canada Open ID Camp for athletes born in 2000, 2001, and 2002(U17/ U18) on the weekend of October 6th-9th, 2017. The camp was held in preparation for this upcoming summer’s U18 FIBA Americas Championship, and U17 FIBA World Cup. Of the 64 athletes selected to participate in this ID Camp, 16 were Team Ontario athletes.

This assessment camp which featured these 16 Team Ontario players was held at Humber College- North Campus in Etobicoke. These players as well as other Canadian male athletes (whom were born in the above listed years, and who have a valid Canadian passport) were all assessed by national team coaches for potential inclusion in the Assessment Camp, for the U17 and U18 National Teams, immediately following the evening Open ID Camp.
This upcoming summer’s U18 FIBA Americas Championship is set to take place on June 11th -17th 2018 in St. Catharines (Canada), while the upcoming U17 FIBA World Cup is set to take place on June 30th-July 8th 2018 in Rosario and Santa Fe (Argentina).
Canada is still currently ranked third in the FIBA Youth Men’s Rankings.
