U15 Canadian National Championships Underway July 24-29

Team Ontario U15 Boys and Girls teams have arrived in Regina, Saskatchewan for the 2017 Canada National Championships. The games will take place from July 24-29 at the University of Regina. This year’s tournament is being presented by Basketball Saskatchewan, in collaboration with local organizing committees and Canada Basketball.

The U15 Boys tip off the group phase of the tournament against Quebec on July 24 at 3:45 p.m. CST. They will then go on to face the host province, Saskatchewan on July 25 and Nova Scotia on July 26. This year’s team is led by returning players Johnathan Avgousti (Aurora), Darius DeAveiro (Kanata) and Kyle Duke-Simpson (Toronto).

The U15 Girls tip off against British Columbia on July 24 at 3:45 p.m. CST. Their group phase will also include games against Manitoba on July 25 and Quebec on July 26. This year’s girls’ team features U16 Canadian Women’s National Team standouts Aaliyah Edwards (Kingston) and Merissah Russell (Ottawa).

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams will look to reclaim gold after bronze medal finishes at last year’s National Championships.
