Roster for 2017 Team Ontario U15 Boys Announced
Ontario Basketball is pleased to announce the roster for the 2017 Team Ontario U15 Boys.
Approximately 400 athletes attended open tryouts at various locations across the province this past March. The top players from open tryouts were invited to attend tryout camps, which served as an opportunity for the selected athletes to compete against one another in a training camp atmosphere before the final rosters were determined.
Twelve athletes were selected to the final roster with an additional five athletes listed as alternates. The final roster features three returning players in Darius De Aveiro, Jonathan Avgousti, and Kyle Duke-Simpson. With only three returning players, there are many new faces on this year’s roster. Several of these new players bring valued experience to the team. One of the most notable new additions is Charles Bediako, a 6’9 power forward, who recently returned from the U16 FIBA Americas in Argentina as a member of the Cadet National Team.
The U15 team will head to Saskatchewan this summer to compete at the 2017 Canada Basketball National Championships at the University of Regina from July 24–29. They will look to reclaim gold after their bronze medal finish last year.
