Ontario Basketball League Celebrates 10th Anniversary Season

Ontario Basketball is proud to announce the launch of the 10th anniversary season of the Ontario Basketball League (OBL), marking a decade of excellence, competition, and community impact across the province.

Since its inaugural season in 2015, the OBL has provided a structured, high-performance league for Ontario’s top youth basketball athletes, fostering player development and showcasing talent on a provincial stage. Over the past ten seasons, the league has grown into a cornerstone of Ontario Basketball’s athlete pathway, producing provincial team athletes and paving the way for many to compete at the collegiate and professional levels.

“Reaching our 10th season is an incredible milestone,” said Claude Nembhard, Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Basketball. “This league has elevated the standard of youth basketball in Ontario and has become a platform where athletes, coaches, and communities come together to grow the game.”

The 2025-26 OBL season will tip off this fall, bringing together teams from across Ontario to compete throughout the year, leading up to the Ontario Cup and Provincial Championships in the spring. With 1,400 teams expected to participate across U9 to U19 age groups, this milestone season highlights the league’s remarkable growth and reach throughout the province. Ontario Basketball is excited to celebrate this 10th anniversary season alongside the players, coaches, families, and fans who have been integral to its success.

To mark this milestone year, Ontario Basketball will unveil a special 10th anniversary OBL logo that will be featured throughout the season. A key focus will be placed on celebrating the people who have shaped the league, with meaningful storytelling that highlights athletes, coaches, and clubs from across Ontario. Additional initiatives will reflect on the OBL’s journey over the past decade, honouring its growth, impact, and the community that has made the league a central part of youth basketball in the province.
