Ontario Basketball Association Announces Hall of Fame Inductees

Honouring the legends, leaders, and voices who defined basketball in Ontario.

Ontario Basketball is proud to announce the return of its prestigious Hall of Fame, honouring individuals who have left a legacy on the sport in the province. After delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s ceremony will recognize inductees from the 2020, 2022, and 2024 classes.

The Hall of Fame induction highlights a diverse group of trailblazers whose influence has helped grow and elevate basketball in Ontario. From standout athletes and visionary leaders to advocates and storytellers, each inductee has played a pivotal role in advancing the game. Their collective impact reflects the depth, diversity, and passion that continue to drive basketball forward across the province and beyond.

“This class of players, voices, and visionaries represents the heart and soul of basketball in Ontario,” said Ryan Xavier, President of Ontario Basketball. “From courts to communities, their contributions have shaped the game in meaningful ways. We’re proud to honour their legacy, celebrate their stories, and recognize the lasting impact they’ve had on basketball across the province.”

The 2020 Induction Class:
Jack Armstrong – Award-winning TSN and Raptors broadcaster for 27 years following a successful 14-year collegiate coaching career. A longtime voice of Canadian basketball and has helped shape the game both on the air and on the court, earning recognition as one of the sport’s most respected ambassadors.

Paul Jones – Veteran studio analyst and sideline reporter for TSN and Raptors broadcasts, whose coaching and media career has made him a trusted voice in Canadian basketball.

Dan Gladman – Award-winning producer known for his work on Toronto Raptors broadcasts, including the historic 2019 NBA Finals win, with over 20 years shaping sports media in Canada and the U.S.

Michael Grange – Senior basketball analyst at Sportsnet, recognized for elevating Canadian basketball through insightful reporting and storytelling.

The 2022 Induction Class:
Jason Jansson – Influential builder and former Executive Director at the Ontario Basketball Association and a passionate advocate shaping the future of basketball in the province for over 20 years.

Carlos Sousa – Longtime youth basketball leader through the Markham Unionville Minor Basketball Association, one of Ontario Basketball’s earliest affiliated clubs. His dedication has helped shape generations of young athletes in the community.

Wallie Landicho (posthumous award) – Co-founder of Fil-Can in the late 1970’s, a trailblazing Toronto league for Filipino youth and women’s basketball. A respected coach, official, and mentor, whose leadership and compassion impacted generations of athletes and community members.

John Petrushchak (posthumous award) – Beloved four-time OFSAA championship coach and administrator, remembered for his dynamic presence and deep influence on generations of athletes through mentorship, passion, and love of the game.

2024 Induction Class:
Jamaal Magloire – Former NBA All-Star and Scarborough trailblazer whose leadership continues through mentorship, Raptors community work, and active executive roles as the Vice President of CEBL’s Scarborough Shooting Stars and Board Member of Ontario Basketball.

Tammy Sutton-Brown – WNBA champion and international standout, who remains a powerful role model for women in sport. Through talent, dedication, and leadership, she continues to elevate the women’s game and has been a vocal advocate for bringing a WNBA team to Toronto.

Leah MacNab – Head of International Strategy & Operations for the NBA, Canada Basketball board member, and a key architect in expanding basketball’s reach, visibility, and inclusivity across Canada. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving the national conversation around equity in sport and she has played a pivotal role in leading the effort to bring a WNBA team to Toronto.

The Ontario Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place during Canada Basketball National Championships on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, from 6:00 PM- 9:00 PM at Durham College Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.
