Men’s Assistant Coach position available at Fleming College

Fleming College in Peterborough is currently accepting applications for assistant coach of the varsity men’s basketball team.

Job Overview

The assistant coach will help with the operations of the varsity men’s basketball program, which begins in early September and goes until the end of February. The team practices 4 times per week (approximately 6–8 hours). In addition, the season has 24 games (home and away), plus exhibition games and tournaments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical, tactical, physical, and psychological preparation of the team and athletes, as assigned by the head coach
  • Provide direction and support to the student-athletes in their pursuit of education and athletic goals
  • Compliance with Fleming, OCAA and CCAA regulations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum NCCP Learn to Train certified or equivalent
  • Two years or more experience and proven competence as a coach; post-secondary or club level is an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong motivational abilities and commitment to fair play
  • Current police check with vulnerable sector screening

Compensation: Honorarium
