In Memory of Faiz Ahmed

Faiz Ahmed was a dedicated coach, mentor, and leader whose impact on the game of basketball extended far beyond the court. Beginning his journey with Canada Basketball as an intern, Faiz quickly established himself as a passionate contributor to the national coaching curriculum and high-performance programs, working across both the men’s and women’s game. His efforts were part of the foundation that supported Canada’s success on the world stage, including the bronze medal performance at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Faiz’s love for the game took him across the globe, where he coached professionally in Macau and China, and contributed to the China Women’s National Team’s silver medal achievement. Known for his commitment to development, he worked alongside NBA and WNBA athletes, helping elevate performance through skill training and mentorship.

At the grassroots and scholastic levels, Faiz made a lasting impact at Bill Crothers Prep, Thornlea Prep, and Orangeville Prep, shaping the next generation of athletes with his knowledge, passion, and care.

Beyond basketball, Faiz served as a Youth Engagement & Outreach Coordinator in Markham, reflecting his deep commitment to community and his unwavering belief in using sport as a vehicle to inspire and uplift others.

Faiz will be remembered for his humility, his dedication to excellence, and the countless lives he touched through the game he loved.
