Inaugural Weekend of Ontario Basketball League a Success

The inaugural weekend of the Ontario Basketball League (OBL) was a success. A total of 46 U10 to U12 Girls’ teams competed on Nov. 7 and 8 at HoopDome in Toronto.

The U10 Girls had one pool (6 teams total), U11 Girls had two pools (13 teams total), and U12 Girls had four pools (27 teams total). Each team played two games, with the majority of teams playing on Saturday and three U12 Girls’ pools playing on Sunday.

There were numerous teams from the Greater Toronto Area, but also teams from north of Toronto, from the Hamilton-Niagara region, and from as far away as Sarnia.

Ontario Basketball would like to acknowledge and express thanks to HoopDome convenor Jason Williams for his invaluable assistance facilitating the weekend.

The second OBL weekend on Nov. 14 and 15 will feature U10, U11, and U12 Boys teams at HoopDome and other venues across the GTA.

The next OBL weekend for U10 to U12 Girls will take place on December 5 and 6.
