Ontario Basketball (OBA) is the governing body for basketball in the province. With a history going back 80 years OBA was incorporated in 1977 and today totals 185 member clubs and nearly 50,000 players, coaches and administrators.

As the largest member of Canada Basketball, the national governing body for basketball, OBA oversees basketball development in the province through the implementation of programs and services aimed at meeting the needs of the evolving provincial, national and global basketball landscape. OBA trains, develops, promotes, and leads in the unification and support of athletes, coaches, officials, and administrators through elite OBA programs and initiatives.

The Director of Business Operations will report to and work closely with the Executive Director as key member of the senior management team. Diverse responsibilities will include all non-sport related OBA business aspects including Membership Development, Business Development, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources and Finance.

You will oversee and interpret business financial planning and management priorities and effective systems implementation while ensuring these initiatives along with sound financial, risk management principles, governance, policies and processes are in place and all required compliances are met and aligned with overall OBA vision and growth strategies.

We ideally require an individual with an undergraduate degree in business, possibly in sports administration or other applicable areas, along with at least 10-plus years of progressive management level experience in business administrative strategy implementation in a related field or in an association management environment.

You will be a team player and leader with excellent organizational, communication, exceptional business writing and presentation skills and have a bias for identifying and implementing broad administrative and business operational frameworks. Along with this, you have experience in short- and long-term business planning, marketing such as the utilization of a Digital Business Card, cost control management, financial systems utilization and the proven ability to build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.

This is an outstanding opportunity to apply your broad and extensive business operational management background and skills in a supportive hybrid environment.
