Job Opportunity: Junior Hoops Program Coordinator

Ontario Basketball member club, Etobicoke Basketball Association (EBA), is currently seeking a part-time coordinator for their Junior Hoops program.

Job Title: Junior Hoops Program Coordinator

Job Type: Independent Contractor

Location: Central Etobicoke

Program Duration: October 13, 2018 to March 2, 2019 (Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary:

Etobicoke Basketball Association is looking for a well-organized, reliable coordinator to lead the Junior Hoops Program, which is designed for girls and boys ages 5–8 and helps develop FUNdamental basketball skills. The program runs in 1-hour segments every Saturday for 16 weeks from October 13, 2018 to March 2, 2019.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to foster a safe, fun, and supportive environment
  • Create and forward to parents the coaches’ weekly lessons/drills
  • Lead and coordinate basketball drills and skill development activities designed to meet age-specific abilities
  • Provide oversight of parent coaches
  • Set up teams for scrimmaging purposes
  • Build strong connections with participants and parent coaches, taking personal responsibility for the well-being, enjoyment, and development of all program participants
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, respectful communication, appropriate attire and grooming, and a diligent work ethic
  • Implement Etobicoke Basketball’s traditions, games, policies, procedures, and safety protocols
