OBA Job Opportunity: Manager, Finance & Administration
The Manager of Finance and Administration will report to and work closely with the Senior Director of Business Operations. Essential responsibilities will include leadership and direction to the overall general accounting and administrative processes for OBA ensuring effective recording of financial reports, analysis and banking initiatives are managed effectively in order to meet overall organizational financial compliance goals, and office administration objectives.
We require an individual with an accounting designation or undergraduate degree in business/finance along with at least five years progressive management level experience in finance administration, banking, general accounting, budget strategy implementation preferably in an association or related field environment.
You possess proven financial organizational strengths in diverse service member driven environments as well as developing and managing staff through clear communication capability at all levels. Accustomed to meeting tight deadlines you have the innate ability to identify and implement relevant and timely financial and administrative input along with financial planning and hands on implementation of effective internal auditing and cost control initiatives.
You will be a team player and leader with excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with a strong grasp of administration financial management standards and what it takes to manage financial initiatives in a non- profit sector along with a bias for identifying and implementing broad administrative and business operating procedures. Desired candidates will have a high proficiency with Excel and Power BI.
This is a unique opportunity. In addition to your primary financial responsibilities, this role will play a key role in supporting aspects of the basketball operations. Candidates with proven experience/understanding of sport analytics/sport operations will be prioritized. You will support basketball operations with your ability to build processes around game scheduling, analysis of game statistics/analytics, and the development and implementation of systems to support team/player rankings.
Ontario Basketball (OBA) is the governing body for basketball in the province. With a history going back 80 years OBA was incorporated in 1977 and today totals 185 member clubs and nearly 50,000 players, coaches and administrators. As the largest member of Canada Basketball, the national governing body for basketball, OBA oversees basketball development in the province through the implementation of programs and services aimed at meeting the needs of the evolving provincial, national and global basketball landscape.
OBA trains, develops, promotes, and leads in the unification and support of athletes, coaches, officials, and administrators through elite OBA programs and initiatives.
