THREE ONTARIO ATHLETES REPRESENTING TEAM WORLD AT 2017 NIKE HOOP SUMMIT

Some talented basketball players from Ontario will represent Team World at Nike’s upcoming Hoop Summit game on Friday, April 7 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The annual tradition gathers the best male under-19 players the globe has to offer to play Team USA’s Junior Men’s National Select Team.

Of the twelve players from around the world, four are Canadian and three have roots in our province:

The world side is also coached by Canadian bench boss Roy Rana of the Ryerson Rams.

As of December 2016, a remarkable 70 former U.S. players and 38 former World Team members were active in the NBA, nearly one-quarter of the entire league, and a total of 199 Hoop Summit alumni have been drafted professionally.
