Basketball is a game played in the moment, with quick reactions, last second shots and reading what the opponent gives you. However, when the lights are off you should practice not just for the short term goal but the long term one as well. Whether your goals are to win the tournament, play at the next level, or professionally they all take discipline and an understanding of the player you have to become.

The Junior Women’s Elite League (JUEL) is a provincial basketball league for U19 women and acts as a bridging program for women looking at the next level of basketball. It spans across the province with 21 teams in the league. Many girls who play within the league go on and succeed in post-secondary basketball in the CIS and CCAA.

Last season the Ottawa Nationals took home the inaugural JUEL championship, lead by Head Coach Dave Malowski.
