Development Fund

The Ontario Basketball Development Fund (OBDF) has been established to help support Ontario Basketball’s Elite Development Programs (Regional Training Centres, Centre for Performance, Elite Development Camps, Team Ontario). All donations to the OBDF will be used to help offset the cost to athletes participating in these programs.

Ontario Basketball regularly encounters talented athletes that are passionate about developing their skills to compete at the next level, but who experience financial limitations. While Ontario Basketball will never deny an athlete based on financial limitations, support is needed in order to deliver high performance basketball development opportunities to these athletes.

Ontario Basketball accesses its charitable tax receipt program through its membership in the Sport Alliance of Ontario (“SAO”) and the Sport IS Development Fund, which is a part of the National Sport Trust Fund approved by the Federal Government.

Donations will be processed through a secure credit card transaction. Donours will receive a tax receipt for the amount donated from the SAO.

Ontario Basketball will receive the full amount donated, minus $2.00 per tax receipt and 3% of the total amount donated. These fees are subtracted by the SAO as an administration fee.

Donations in the amount of $500.00 and above cannot be processed without a signed copy of the Sport Is Development Fund donour form. This form will be provided to the donour (following receipt of donation) and can then be faxed back to Ontario Basketball.
